Red Hot Cosplay

A wild Charizard appeared.
Fight? Pokémon? Item? Run?
RUN!

I would be excited about Pokémon Black and White coming out soon, but I’m still on the fence about SoulSilver. I guess we’ll see how it does when it comes out.

Look out! It’s a cameo from one of our top commentators, Royal. Good to see you, buddy!
Check out some of Royal’s work at his Royal Entertainment page on Facebook.

We’ll be doing this occasionally, so leave some comments or shoot us an email at finalboss@shotglassescomic.com if you’d like to visit the bar one day.

Last, but not least, the site looks different. You can expect more changes as we’re getting ready to attend New York Comic Con and Big Apple Comic Con.

There Is No Triceratops

Billy Cranston, the Blue Mighty Morphin’ Ranger is having a rough month.

First, it was discovered that the Triceratops is not a legitimate dinosaur, it’s actually the immature stage of another dinosaur, the Torosaurus.

This is worst than when they demoted Pluto. Just the fact that my spell check recognizes Triceratops but not Torosaurus illustrates everything that is wrong with this discovery. Click here for the full story.

My first thought after hearing this was that Power Rangers was now inaccurate. Never mind textbooks and museums, Billy was out of a Dinozord!

My second thought was about Cera from A Land Before Time.

The second thing to happen to Billy was the revelation that David Yost, the actor who portrayed Billy, was mocked and harassed on the set of Power Rangers due to his homosexuality. Eventually he walked off the set after hearing one anti-gay slur too many, which explains the stock footage of him in the episode when Billy left Earth to permanently live on Aquitar. Click here for Part 1 of the interview.

By the way, if you haven’t been watching Linkara’s History of Power Rangers, begin doing so now by clicking here. It’s morphenomenal!

And if you’d like to see pictures from Power Morphicon this weekend, including a kick-ass Green Ranger Ninjetti cosplay check out The Official Power Ranger Morphicon Convention on Facebook right here.

A Rough Time, In A Galaxy Far, Far Away

Those Death Stars don’t pay for themselves, you know.

If anyone hasn’t seen the news story about Darth Vader robbing a bank, click here. If you have seen it, click there anyway. It’s still ridiculous.
And for another hilarious, but less illegal, example of Star Wars cosplay click here for Improv Everywhere’s subway rendition of Star Wars.

You might’ve noticed that Shot Glasses is now being updated on Mondays. Sorry for the lack of warning. You might also notice other changes to the site in upcoming weeks, including a new logo(!).

Boss Door

“Like the moon over
The day, my genius and brawn
Are lost on these fools.”
-Haiku by Bowser, King of the Koopas.

Much like Gary’s office, there are going to be some big changes to the Shot Glasses website in the upcoming weeks. Starting Monday. Stay tuned.

By the way, this is our first Cheap Shot, which is just a Short and Sweet comic. Keep an eye out for these from time to time, you never know when we may post one.

The Last Err Bender

Okay, this is the last comic we’ll do about The Last Airbender. We promise!

Well… Last one until we think of something else.

News has it that M. Night has already planned out the second and third movies. Has he read any of the reviews for this one yet?

If they green light a sequel, hopefully he would’ve learned from his mistakes. Assuming, of course, that he realizes that he made mistakes to begin with.

Put Your Movie Where Your Mouth Is

Rob’s just trying to get out of his end of the bet. He doesn’t really think it was a good movie. No one does.

“The laws of chance suggest that something should have gone right. Not here.”
-Roger Ebert

The Last Airbender is so bad, it borders on vindictive. I honestly believe that Avatar: The Last Airbender angered M. Night somehow (maybe one of his kids said it was better than Lady in the Water?) and he made this movie solely to get his revenge by maliciously ripping all of the humor and character and suspense and tension and romance and drama and epic action out of the franchise, leaving it a soulless shell of its former self. In 3D.

At least, I hope that’s the reason behind this. I’d hate to think something like this was created with good intentions.
